Good riddance. There’s enough bigotry in the world. We don’t need hers.

It’s about time.
There’s a time and a place for everything, but there’s no need to actually use the word itself in any situation, in my opinion.

I’m not convinced she was being bigoted—just stupid to make a point about words using one over that is considered among educated people to be bigoted. Comics Lenny Bruce and George Carlin tried to make audiences realize that words are just words, innocent in and of themselves, and I mostly believe that’s true. But in our P.C.-oriented society (which itself has roots in good intentions but has been taken too far), why use inflammatory ones?

She has over and over again (after all, she lost her TV show over controversy) proven that she is not a good person and not a good therapist.

Before her infamous nude pictures came out on the WWW, she would tell women , “you’re a whore, you know that, right?”
Oh , I can’t stand her.

How the hell is she not free to express her opinions? She whines about her free speech right. She’s free to use racial epitaphs all she wants. And her sponsors are free to express themselves too. Seems to me she just enjoys saying the n-word.

@AstroChuck You’re absolutely correct. She is free to express her opinions. And listeners are just as free to express their opinions as well, to her producers, her sponsors, her affiliate stations, etc., etc., etc.

She is a poor example of a therapist and someone with too little discretion and far too many intolerant attitudes. She is not real loss. Silence is golden.

I don’t think she is a bigot. I think she might be slipping though. I don’t agree with everything she says, that’s for sure. I think she handled the call with this black woman poorly, even Dr. Laura immediately realized this, even before all of the backlash. The biggest problem on the call, besides using an offensive word, was that she was not really answering the callers question, but psychoanalyzing her. I don’t listen to her show enough to know if this is typical or her. I saw the woman who had called into the show on CNN and she went on to say there is no way for Dr. Laura to know what it is like to be a minority hearing stereotypes and being called names, and I think that statement is somewhat true for peope who are not a minority, except it does not apply to Dr. Laura, who was raised by parents who were a mixed marriage, the families were not very accepting of the interfaith situation, and she is now a practicing Jew. She is a minority.
