What recipe would you like to make?

I’m always thinking about recipes I have eaten but not made myself. Curious as to what others have thought of making but havn’t got around to doing them.

I love watching Masterchef (Australia) and so many of the recipes on there look delicious but just too hard to try at home. I did however buy one of the judge’s, Gary Mehigan’s cook book but haven’t been game enough to attempt any of those yet either. His mud cake which was one of the challenges in the first season would be amazing to make but I would most definitely stuff it up.

I would love to make any recipe, i am thoroughly useless in the kitchen. I don’t think i will ever get any better.

I’ve been thinking about trying to make my own bread lately. I’ve never made anything with yeast before, and don’t own a bread machine. Last week I got a King Arthur Flour catalog in the mail, and it made me want to spend the day in the kitchen making bread. And donuts, and scones, and cakes… I think I’m going to attempt homemade bread this fall.

I go to allrecipes.com or myrecipes.com for inspiration. I bought a rack of ribs and I am going to try a new spice rub and actually make the BBQ sauce from scratch. That is my new adventure. I also make a pick out a recipe and make it once every two weeks . So I can add little variety in my cooking.

Sourdough bread. I’ve always wanted to make it, but anything that requires a starter tends to require too much pre-planning for me. I’m more of a “I have time, make it now” gal.

I’d like to get Peking duck to come out right. Someday it will; patience.

@EmpressPixie Once you’ve got your starter culture going, it requires no maintenance. You just have to make the “sponge” several hours before.

Ratatouille. I’m going to try that this fall. That and Pot au Feu.

Just a lot of homey French peasant food.

I want to learn how to make soups and stews – which really can’t be that hard. I need a crock pot for sure. I’d also like to learn how to cook meat on my impossible stove top (it’s old and hard to adjust the flame, it’s like a guessing game). And veggie dumplings are going to be my next endeavor.

@EmpressPixie if you go through with it, make sure you are in a well ventilated area. They don’t call it sourdough for nothing.
I want to try to make homemade lemon chicken, but I’m scared I will mess it up bad.
But I think a calzone is a good start for dinner yummy!
