What belief or strong opinion has a Fluther discussion forced you to modify or reverse?

One of the things I love about Fluther is the ability to lock horns on points of logic I truly care about. So long as debate remains civil and focused on ideas and reason instead of name calling and dismissive comments about one’s intelligence, ability to see or read, honesty and such; I truly love the debate. It gives me a chance to test my ideas and beliefs in the public square. If I am in error, I want to know that, not just go merrily on believing something that will eventually fail me because, at its heart, it is false. And even if my belief proves right, the exercise of defending it and the arguments brought against it help prepare me to defend my position on a broader stage when the need arises. I will have already stepped through the attacks that can be mounted against the idea and found where they are lacking in merit.

In fact, it may well be that if we spend a great deal of time here and do engage in regular intellectual debates with others who are obviously bright and articulate, but we never find a single idea of ours that needs to be reexamined, we are not the winner in every debate but the loser in some. Nobody has the totality of the truth. Only the intellectually dishonest tell themselves they are the one human who does. So, with that background in mind, what position/s of yours have you had to reexamine and modify or flat out change because your peers here showed you a flaw in your reasoning?
