It really does and that is the shitty part.
When the wound is raw and new you convince yourself that there is no way you will ever get over this. There is no way this will ever go away. This pain I feel is special and different from everyone else’s.
Then Time comes along, crushing everything old to make way for the new, and you are forced to accept that you aren’t special. You are forced to accept that your pain is just like everyone else’s because you don’t think about it as much, it doesn’t hurt as much anymore, and while you were suffering the rest of the world continued on, business as usual.
Time does heal all wounds but, like any healed wound, there is always a scar.
