(I don’t have children, but feel like sharing my parent’s experience.)
My parents were ready to have children, but had trouble with conception. After a couple miscarriages they were convinced they wouldn’t be able to have children at all. They finally had a success with my older brother. My mum had to have an emergency c-section though. That was not planned.
Four years later, I was planned down to my birthday. Due to the complications of her first delivery, I was planned to be delivered cesarean.
The next year, my younger brother was a complete surprise. Measures were taken to prevent further children because, even though my mother wanted another child, the doctors advised against her getting pregnant again due to various complications.
It’s all quite interesting to me.
