I can’t, but I wish I could. I’ve always loved puppetry of all kinds (even though some ventriloquist dummies are creepy looking.)

When I was a kid, I was always sending off box tops for little toys. One of them was a guitar pick-looking thing that went under your tongue and was supposed to enable you to throw your voice. I could never make it work.

Actually, “throwing one’s voice” is only an illusion. What you’re really doing is using a fake voice and misdirecting the audience’s attention to the dummy’s mouth and expressions. I was the dummy for believing 10 box tops would make me a ventriloquist!

I can’t but one of my favorite comedians Jeff Dunham here

I can, but I’m not very good at it.

No, I never could get the hang of it.

I did it once in New York. My friend and I got into a thing about who could make what animal noises. I showed her my chicken and a group of people sent for a security guard because they couldn’t figure out where the hell it was coming from. They never found it.
