How long do you usually keep them in that manner. When do you declare them bad.

They don’t last long enough for me to know the expiration dates. But my deli meats are usually the leftovers from whatever I cooked in the day or two before.

Our fridge has several handy compartments. The deli meats and cheeses go in the bottom drawer, I assume that is one of the colder spots in the fridge. As for when I judge them to be bad, well, I am a bit weird about stuff sitting in the fridge for more than a few days, so I guess I would go by expiration date, smell, appearance, etc.

If they wrap it in a plastic, zippy type bag… I leave it. If they only wrap it in paper and tape, I’ll either put it in a ziplock bag or a tupperware container. I make someone else smell or taste it to see if it’s bad :-)

Makes me nervous to keep any kind of meat in the fridge more than a couple of days, _especially deli meat. I usually buy small quantity and eat it fast. When I do keep it overnight, I put about three layers of wrapping and then, when I’m ready to eat it, I spend 5 minutes sniffing. Hey, but that’s just me.

We really only buy small amounts and use them in three days or so so I just store them in the plastic baggie they put them in.

Deli meat – maximum seven days in my house. Generally it’s closer to five because it has been open at the deli for a couple of days. (The big package they slice it from, I mean.) If you feel compelled to buy large amounts, split it up into separate packages and freeze it.

I don’t like to store any of my meat in plastic wrap or baggies. I have found that it tastes better if it is wrapped in butcher paper. If I do put it inside a plastic baggie it is first wrapped in paper towel or waxed paper. It will dry out faster, but I think that is why it stays good. Molds grow better in a moist environment.

At the deli.

In the original wrapper. If they should last too long, I toss em when they are discolored [turkey turns pink] and smell nad.
