I built model rockets when I was a kid using Estes engines with parachutes.for a safe return. .

Now I set off earthshakers with 30–60 times the impulse that rock the neighborhood and don’t come back. Great July 4th fare.

@cprevite I agree – it’s not that I wouldn’t or couldn’t just haven’t.

I am all about indulging my inner child. The most prolific hobby I have maintained is writing. The smallest would be taking a good, long ride on a swing.

I also adore snails. When it rains, I go out and take pictures of them :) Most of the other children-now-adults I know either: a) always thought snails were gross or b) no longer think snails are “cool” or useful for creeping the Type A kids out.

I never stopped dancing, cooking, sewing. I still love football. I still love to play in the rain.

Playing the flute, reading/books, scientific pursuits, and I still love video games.

Writing, poetry, horses, animals, nature.

I have less time as an adult but I still enjoy writing poetry and sewing.
Didn’t start collecting hot wheels until my grandson was born.

Roleplaying (GURPS and Shadowrun) and tabletop strategy games (Car Wars and Classic BattleTech) are the only things I did as a kid that I still do.

R/C cars are at least as expensive as a real car, and I have a wife and bills now.
Computers are really more of a cross between “chore” and “lifestyle”, so don’t qualify as a hobby in my mind.
Mountain biking lost it’s appeal after I dropped 15 sheets of sheetrock on my leg and bent my knee backwards. (Still aches over 11 years later!)

I’m still fascinated by dinosaurs and prehistory, although I don’t wander through the woods anymore pretending that I’m in a Mesozoic forest.

Not really, unless you regard reading fiction novels as a hobby – iv’e always loved reading fiction. I used to draw when i was younger, but don’t do that anymore, but i’ve moved onto other (what i consider to be) more exciting creativities now.
