Mid-term elections historically have poor turn outs when compared to presidential election years, and this year looks to be no different. Also much of the liberal/democratic base looks like it will be staying home this November, as recent polls puts likely voters in favor of Republicans by nearly 10%. The irony being that when the same poll asked registered voters who they’d vote for, the numbers came out 47%-47% (leaving room for error).

So how about it, will you vote this November? Why or why not? And lets try not to let this thread deteriorate into a political mud throwing match that won’t solve anything.

Yes. There’s an important senatorial election in CT so I plan to turn out and do my civic stuff.

Yes. We have a governor’s race and a couple of local issues that I will vote on. However, I vote no matter how “small” the election may seem.

I’ve only missed voting on one mid term election since 1980. If you don’t vote, don’t bitch at the results.

I honestly don’t know. I want to and of course I know I should, but I’m just so turned off by the ugly divisiveness in politics these days.

I think I’ve voted in every election except one over the last 20 years. I’ve voted in the tiny elections as well as the big ones. I plan to vote in this one. The Governor’s seat and a Senate seat are both open.

Absolutely we have to get out and stop this madness. We must keep the Democrats in power. For the first time in my life there is a government working “WE THE PEOPLE”. If we vote in the other side your will never agian see the people represented equitably again. Whoever controls the house is in control of redistricting the country after the latest Census. What does that mean? Take a look at some of the districts in Texas to get an idea how to use redistricting to make the government as old and rich and white as possible. Have you seen the republican candidates that have WON!

VOTE please VOTE and remember where we have had to come from. The greatest economic collapse of our lifetime.

Yep. The morning of my 18th birthday I took the stairs three at a time to get to the registrar (my government/economics teacher) to get my voting registration forms. Haven’t missed an election yet, no matter the scale.

I’m not a resident, but I am an American. I can’t vote in the midterms…. only in the Presidential elections, and I’m ashamed to say that it took moving to a country where they didn’t allow me to vote, to appreciate the voice I had in the US elections. (I did vote in the elections in New Zealand, where I was a resident and allowed to vote in ALL elections, not like here in Norway.. I can vote in local elections, but not State ones because I’m not a citizen, but they still want their tax from me…. talk about reasons for a Tea Party!!!)
