How much money would you estimate you have earned in your entire life (total lump sum)?

Tally up all the jobs you’ve ever had in your entire life (including jobs as a teenager, part-time) to the present. Just include money you’ve worked for & earned through your own blood, sweat & tears (not inherited money).

It’s kind of surprising, actually. If you won that amount of money in a lottery you’d probably think that you’d be set for life, yet no.

$15,000 time 7 = 105,000 + 2000 = $107,000 then again I’m only 33

Probably between $300,000 and $400,000.

I know the social security admin. can give you a total. Just ask what you benefits will be when you retire.

I’m 20.

I’ve probably accumulated about $10,000 or so in my lifetime.

You can find out definitively by taking a look at your annual Social Security statement.

Almost $3 million, and yes that number shocked me, cause I don’t have much to show for it. Of course I am in my mid 50’s, and it’s not like I started with that much.

@filmfann – see that’s what I mean. If someone told you you’d win 3 million dollars in the lottery you would imagine yourself travelling around the world & buying a yacht (at least I would) but really that’s what it takes just to survive these days.

Be aware that the social security total will only be your social security eligible wages. I worked for several agencies that did not fall under that category, and therefore, my social security checks are only based on the $80,000 that I earned under the SS program.
