Are you for or against companies being granted the capability of "googling" your face?

As this article suggests.. British Airways might not need your permission to do so.

I’d love to hear everyone’s opinion especially if you fly using BA.

If you posted the picture of yourself online, you are allowing anyone to see it. Why would you be surprised that a company might use this to their advantage?

Bottom line, people choose to disclose information about themselves on the open world wide web. It isn’t private. It is your fault if the public chooses to misuse your information. (I don’t think this applies to things that people put into documents that they assume are private, such as an online order form, etc.)

As @athenasgriffin already pointed out, anything you post in a public forum (or even in a private forum) could potentially be seen by anyone anyway… but the reasoning for doing it isn’t very good.

With technology like facial recognition software out there we seem to be heading toward an era where any person with the right resources could track you down at any time. That’s the part that scares me. And no, I’m not running from anyone.. but I still value my anonymity.

If it’s online, it’s not private. Period.

I agree with @SpatzieLover

You can’t put pictures of yourself online, and with no privacy controls to keep it from getting it to come up on search results . . . and then say people aren’t allowed to look at it.

I feel no sympathy for anyone who disagrees because you have the choice not to let it happen to you by not being an internet hoe :)
