I’m wondering where I should get my sons name tattooed.

His name is William!

Nowhere, except in my heart.

I’ve seen childrens’ names on parents’ arms.

I like @lillycoyote‘s answer. It’s the same as mine.

@_Whitetigress I do have a single tattoo, on my lower back, that I’ve had for about 30 years. That type of tattoo, in that spot, at some point, unfortunately, came to be known as “a tramp stamp.” I really wish that wasn’t so. :-)

I’m also with Lily Coyote. A wonderful answer.

@lillycoyote Haha, yeah well you know there’s always another group labeling art this way or that way. I don’t think of them as “tramp stamp” aesthetically it’s a nice location.

…Hoping some Jellies/tattoo enthusiasts answer OP soon! :D..

I agree with @lillycoyote, she gave the perfect answer.

@mangeons I agree.

…Any jellies with family tattoo names?

And if you want to go with the other definition of tattoo, my father’s voice; he died in April of 2007, is always “tattooing” in the back of my head:

How long have you been driving with your check engine light on! .

Why would waste your money on that crap?

I would just like you to keep proper hours. You stay up too late, and sleep too late.

You need to keep up with the bills on a regular basis.

He isn’t, that tattooing of his voice, isn’t always critical; I don’t want to give that impression, but his admonitions do help keep me on the straight and narrow.

LOL. Thanks everyone, just keep the love a comin’

I don’t want a tattoo of any kind, but I think it’s sweet that you’re going to get your son’s name. The closest thing to a helpful answer I can give is to tell you that I have a friend who has her siblings’ birthdays on each of her wrists.

If I were to get a tattoo with my children’s names, I’d probably literally have them tattooed right over my heart.

mangeons's avatar

@augustlan I personally think my name would look best tattooed across your forehead so everyone could see and be reminded of how awesome I am ;)

@_Whitetigress Probably at a tattoo shop unless you’re a do-it- your-selfer.

I’ve considered a small butterfly, but family names never entered my mind.

lillycoyote's avatar

@mangeons LOL. Trust me, as time passes, perhaps at your wedding, or other public events, or—later on, when you have to haul your doddering old mother around town because she can’t do things herself, and she has your name tattooed across her forehead, your going to really wish she didn’t.

On the heart is the perfect place,
Note of caution – my ex-husband had my name tattooed on his arm and then was stuck with it when we divorced.
When I say ‘stuck with it’, he scratched about with it with some sharp object, got an infection and the thing was still visible!
Time faded the tattoo . . .

@gailcalled You have a lower back tattoo?

lillycoyote's avatar

@FutureMemory LOL. I suspect that @gailcalled does not have a lower back tattoo, but I could be wrong. And if she does, she’s not talkin’.

My aunt has her kids’ names on her forearm under a tigger tattoo. She also has about four different men’s names scattered across her body, so it doesn’t take much to earn a spot.

My sister has her daughter’s name in cursive across the inside of her wrist.

wundayatta's avatar

Maybe if men got a child’s name tattooed on their genitals after every child, overpopulation wouldn’t be such an issue.

I have both of my daughter’s names tattooed down my ribcage.
