What could be causing these symptoms?

I know no one can tell me what’s wrong with me—I have a doctor’s appointment but not till November and I am at my wits end here. I’m just looking for information. I started menstruating at the age of 13 and it was always normal, every 27 days or so, never had a problem with cramps or anything. For the past 2 years, my periods have become increasingly difficult. They are heavy, sometimes I pass clots, and I am in pain. Sometimes they last 12–14 days. My last period lasted about a week, then I stopped bleeding for 2 days and now it’s back in full force. Not only that but sometimes intercourse is extremely painful. Certain positions help, but not always. It is not a lubrication issue, it is deep inside. I have only been with 1 person – my fiance. I’ve been searching online for these symptoms and all I come up with are STD’s which I know I do not have. I was even tested just in case. Any ideas? I call the doctors office almost everyday to try to get an earlier appointment… no luck.

For me, it was ovarian cysts. No fun!
If you’re bleeding basically every day, eventually you’ll lose enough blood you’ll start getting light headed or pass out. I don’t think you’ll last until November at this rate.
Sounds like endometriosis to me too. Have you had any pregnancies?
@snowberry Not necessarily. I bled every day for two years, and never passed out or anything. I did have to take iron supplements, though.
I am looking into endometriosis now… it does sound very much like me, but I don’t know much about it. I have never been pregnant, no… and I do take iron supplements (have for many years now).
It could be endometriosis.
OK, so it depends entirely on how much she’s bleeding. I was bleeding enough that eventually I’d have bled out, but it would have taken a few weeks, maybe more.
You don’t mention your age. Your symptoms sound a great deal like perimenopause (for some women, this phase of life begins when they’re quite young). Painful intercourse happens when estrogen levels drop and tissues became thinner and drier (urogenital atrophy).
I’m surprised no one else on this thread has suggested you not wait two months to see a doctor??? I think you should find another one and find out what the problem is right away!!!
Not acceptable to wait until November in my opinion. Almost everyone on this Q knows I often don’t recommend running to a doctor, but in your case I feel you should go as soon as possible.
Have you explained your symptoms to a nurse? Are you going to a GYN or a GP? Consider calling a different doctor so you can get in earlier.
It also sounds like it could be fibroid tumors. Not dangerous but do need taking care of if it is.
Not to be an alarmist but I think you should call the dr and get on the call list. I started at 13 but mine got increasingly heavy over the years. Periods like that are not normal. I believe in might be endometriosis but mine were caused by ovarian cysts. When they break-it is painful. I waited too long but eventually had a hysterectomy when I was in my 40s. My husband said the Tampax stock dropped 100 points after that. Best thing I ever did. Dr was upset that I waited so long. Just get to the dr as soon as you can – -you don’t need to suffer like this. I wouldn’t wait two months, either. No need to prolong your misery. If there’s any way to be seen sooner by someone else, do it!
@Pooh54 I had a hysterectomy in my late 30s for the same reason. I’m right there with you…best thing I ever did.
