In backgammon do you allow a lovers leap even if the 5 and 6 are blocked?

Lovers leap is rolling an 11 and going from one side of the board to the other. I was trying to remember if I used to play with allowing the leap even if the 5 and 6 spots are blocked by the other player. What rule do YOU use regarding this?

No. Lovers leap is a cute name for the move, but it doesn’t allow for illegal moves if the 5 and 6 are blocked.

You might have some house rule or some variation that allows it somehow, but in standard or tournament play, it would not be allowed
