I’d start booking air fares for all the places I want to go.

DrasticDreamer's avatar

I would travel. Everywhere.

Jude's avatar

Same as jb and drasticdreamer, I’d put in my notice at work, then start booking flights.

I think it would be interesting work to spend the rest of one’s life creatively giving money away in ways designed to do the most good for the largest number of people.

Stop eating top ramen.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I would start paying my bills on time first and for most.

I’d love to be able to be more green/sustainable.

At this point, I have limited funds, and must buy the cheapest option.

(It would be nice to have a full spice rack, too.)

I would probably buy a nice home, not too big but cosy and set up a home music studio with all the gadgets and technology I can’t afford right now, something like this

I would eat better
Feel better
Exercise better
Live better

Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars?
Lawrence: I’ll tell you what I’d do, man: two chicks at the same time, man.
Peter Gibbons: That’s it? If you had a million dollars, you’d do two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; ‘cause chicks dig dudes with money.
Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks.
Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that’d double up on a dude like me do.
Peter Gibbons: Good point.

Seriously, the first thing would be to hook my mom and sister (and her kids) up. Then I would travel the world looking for the best burrito.

Travel, travel, stop all non-fiction writing work.

I would work on buying a bigger house and getting pregnant.

I’d buy a bigger house with an indoor pool, hire people to clean and maintain the yard. Enroll my kids in this particular private school I’ve always longed to afford, book some vacations, buy two new (greener) cars, get some nice things for family members, donate to charities that help kids and women, get a mani/pedi every week, let my kids go to whatever awesome summer camps they want, buy all of our meats and most produce from local farms, get a boob job, have my husband get a vasectomy, start raising horses, and buy a doberman puppy. I am so easy to please.

Oh, and I buy more books than I’d ever possibly have time to read.

Kill my alarm clock.

Sarcasm's avatar

I’ve reassessed.
I’d move north. Perhaps staying in CA, perhaps moving up even to WA. I’d get my own small apartment. I’d get rid of my minivan and get some decent, efficient car. I’d sign up for a whole bunch of classes at a local CC.
and also I’d upgrade from Top Ramen.

I’d start traveling to all the places I have wanted to go, and to Hell with flying, I’d buy a brand new Toyota T100 4×4 with all the bells and whistles to get to those places. I’d also seek out those awesome firearms I’ve always wanted for my collection, get the Beagle puppy I’ve wanted forever, give my present home to my younger brother in law (after bringing everything up to code) and buy the perfect house on the perfect spot of land, in the perfect town.

The only thing I wouldn’t change is I’d keep doing my Halloween parties and displays every year.

Stop worrying about what my daughter’s college tuition is going to cost and buy her a new car to replace the fourth-hand and somewhat untrustworthy car she drives now.

I would also hire a dumpster and throw all sorts of things out because I could now afford to replace them.

And I would hire a reliable home-care person to make sure my husband stays on schedule and on his meds, and go ahead and take my son on the SCUBA trip to the Caribbean he has been begging for.

I’d buy @Facade a big ol’ house where her and her beau could live happily ever after.

StephK's avatar

I already have all the money I need. I live comfortably and happily.

YARNLADY's avatar

I would set up a charitable foundation, along the lines of the Bill Gates Foundation, and hire all my relatives to help me give away all the proceeds from the interest on the money.

hug_of_war's avatar

I wouldn’t be consumed with worry which would certainly help my mental state

YARNLADY's avatar

@hug_of_war According to many lottery winners, just the opposite is true. People are suddenly besieged by false relatives and financial advisor’s whose aim is to separate them from their money.

Facade's avatar

@evelyns_pet_zebra Awww! You’d be my bud for life! lol And you and your sweetie would be welcome any time

wilma's avatar

I’d buy better groceries, and turn up the heat a little in my house.

Beta_Orionis's avatar

I would stop worrying about making ends meet.

ShanEnri's avatar

Family vacations!

johanna's avatar

I would stop worrying.
