What makes you beautiful/handsome?

Asked by troubleinharlem (7999points) October 26th, 2009 from iPhone

Honesty is the best policy, people. I’ll go first.

I think that my sense of humor makes me beautiful. Maybe I’m not an eyeturner like Fergie or Beyonce, but my smile is priceless. All the silicone in the world couldn’t make me trade that. xD

How about you? What makes you beautiful or handsome?

I think my passion for things in life makes me beautiful. Some people hate it, others love it. Physically, I think my eyes are pretty nice, even though I feel weird saying it.

People seem to like my sense of humor, and my knowledge on many topics, and my willingness to listen and change my mind.

Like @DrasticDreamer it it kind of weird to talk about physical features but since you ask: I get compliments on my eyes, lips, and breasts (for those who get to see them). I’m a little overweight right now, but if I lost the 10 pounds I am lucky that my figure is well balanced, not very hippy, not very busty, long waist, although I wish my stomach was a little flatter no matter what I weigh.

I hate talking about myself, so I’ll digress by saying, what I find beautiful in others is a kind heart. For me, that, a smile does it every time!

Physically – nothing. Emotionally, I have a very giving heart.

@DrasticDreamer – I have forgotten how to make someone’s avatar large, but from the little picture, I would say that you are in general, rather pretty.

@Bagardbilla I agree. I won’t answer this either. It sounds too vain. The people who know me know whether or not I have beauty. That’s all I care about.

I am compassionate and have a deep love of nature.

Facade's avatar

Honestly, you’d have to ask the people who like to use that adjective and my name in the same sentence.

@sarahny <———-nature lover too. Nice answer!

I don’t know what makes me beautiful but I feel beautiful when I put a smile on the face of someone that I love.

my eyes are pretty and I have a big red beard that is bad-ass.

Clair's avatar

@aphilotus Sounds bad-ass. Anything with the word ‘beard’ in it is bad-ass.

removed by me…ooops

A love once told me it was a mixture of woman versus childlike wonderment that he couldn’t look away from. He also broke my heart so go figure.

@aphilotus I second that. The beard is quite magnificent and coppery. His eyes the perfect shade of blue to compliment! Together, the features are particularly stunning in the afternoon light. :D

For me: the perception of others

You’ll have to ask my wife and my friends. I look at myself in the mirror and see nothing to get excited about. I see physical features that I’d like ot change, and that’s about it. I have distinct personality qualities that I am proud of, but how that would affect me on the abstract concept of physical beauty has me confused. I am who I am because it just feels right to be this way. Bringing pleasure to others gives me pleasure, and there isn’t much else I can say.

If you want to talk beauty, well, ask me about my MHC I named Frederick, now he is a beauty. His twin brother Pumpkin Head is also a real beaut. Quite possibly the best looking Hissers this side of the Atlantic.

I find it easy to use the word ‘beautiful’ and @Facade in the same sentence, though.

My commitment to someone or something. When I love something, I love it really ‘hard” (for lack of a better word). It’s always with every fiber of my being.. Sometimes it even turns into anger. So I guess I’m really passionate. Plus I have really great hair and fantastic eyes. :P

I’m not beautiful, and I can’t imagine being beautiful. I’m just one messed up guy who probably wasn’t wanted in the first place. I’m obsessive and clingy and needy. It’s a miracle anyone ever married me. Fuck! Why do I come to these questions? Fluther should have an anti-daloon marker that keeps me from even seeing things like this. I’m sorry. It’s really hard seeing all these people who like themselves. I feel like I shouldn’t do these things, but sometimes it’s too hard not to. I’m constantly fighting myself on these things, and right now, I’m losing. and incoherent—sorry again

Psychedelic_Zebra's avatar

@daloon we still love you dude, warts and all. You are part of the reason I couldn’t leave Fluther when I had the ‘issues’ awhile back. You are one of the most honest guys on here, and that, my friend, makes you beautiful in your own way. much lurve to you!

naivete's avatar

@daloon I love you. (And the neediness)

LOVE makes me feel beautiful. Falling in Love, Being in Love, Being in love with LIFE itself…..makes me feel so beautiful on the INSIDE of me, which in turn radiates and glows on the outside….
