I've had a decent night's sleep the last two nights, but, yesterday and today I'm exhausted. What gives?

I’m talking unbelievably sleepy. It’s taken all that I have not to put my head down on my desk here at work and close my eyes.

Otherwise, I feel okay.

it was a struggle to get through this post.

Are you feeling depressed?

dehydration?
inadequate nutrition?

Drink lots of water, eat lean protiens and fresh fruits and veggies, avoid simple carbs, and take a multi-vitamin, and go to bed early tonight. If that doesn’t help, see your Dr.

Too much sleep. This has happend to me. Drink plenty of fluids and I bet you’ll feel better tomorrow.

I see you put medicine as one of your topics for this question. Does that mean you’ve been taking medicine, or that you may want medicine to help your issue?

@jmah Could be that you got too much sleep…or you could be coming down with something. I hope you feel better….til then a quart of espresso is how i’d handle this situation!!!!

@jmah Could be anemia, then. Do you ever have the chills or get really cold before, during or just after your period?

There are illnesses that allow you to be more or less asleep but never rested.

Sleep apnea is very common, and you can actually sleep a good part of the night. It’s just that when you go into REM (the most recuperative phase) that you stop breathing and wake up. Some people wake up more than a hundred times an hour – and describe their night and next day symptoms as you have. They may have no recollection of difficulties during the night, or those difficulties may seem “normal” to them.

There are other illnesses that stop you from going into REM. But sleep apnea is the most common.

@SpatzieLover I’ve been around enough sick people, so, I wouldn’t be surprised that I’m coming down with something.

@pdworkin, was checked out not long ago. All is fine there.

@hearkat I haven’t been eating all that well, and, have been under a lot of stress. So, it could be that.

@SpatzieLover, my girlfriend and I were talking about that (anemia), yesterday. I don’t get the chills/nor get cold before, during or after my period. But, I was on my period when I started feeling this way.

I’ll do my best to drinks lots of H20, and hunt down some nutritious noms today. Tonight, I go to bed at a decent time..

Get tested for sleep apena. Very common sleep malady. I have it and and benefitted greatly from treatment.

@jmah If you wind up not getting ill, get a blood panel done at the doc. You could easily add some iron to your diet and take a supplement as needed. I’m anemic…it can really drain your energy!

The only thing I want to add is if you think you’re seriously deydrated (drinking, too much coffee etc) then I would go for some pedialyte as well.

i’ve read that the time change from DST to regular time can bother some people.

@faye GA! It really does take some people’s internal clock longer to adjust.
