Is there a way to import all Itunes purchases to a new computer from old ones under the same account?

Asked by judochop (16119points) January 14th, 2010

I just bought a new laptop (my last one was stolen). I need to gather my Itunes purchases. Is there a way to do this or did I just get screwed (again) by Apple?

You can copy all the files in the iTunes folder under music to the new computer and authorize the new computer for use on the account.

wait a second. I did whay epony suggested and now it won’t let me re-authorize my computer plus I can’t seem to find the “check for downloads” thing you are speaking of.

what do you mean “re-authorize”?

Check for Downloads is also in the Store menu item, below the Authorize/Deauthorize section.

Awesome…I was looking somewhere else.
Thanks. I was afraid that when I “authroized” my new computer (making it the 5th one) and then “de-authorized” it that it would fuck things up.

or you could just put the account on a flashdrive and then plug it into you new computer and upload the info

your welcome by the way! :)
