Do days where nothing goes right in the morning turn out to be some of your best days?

Asked by Storms (811points) April 1st, 2010

You wake up and your shoulder really hurts. Your mouth feels like ick and your tooth brush fell in the toilet. You make an elaborate breakfast and drop it all over the floor.

You just KNOW that today is going to suck. But then it doesn’t. The weather turns perfect, work calls and gives you the day off, you have a great conversation with an old friend, meet up with them and take a trip to another city where you find a great new restaurant and it turns out to be one of the best days of your life. Happen to you much?

Yes! Not often, but I have experienced this phenomenon.

This happened to me so much when I was younger that when I wake up feeling like crap I already start feeling good because I anticipate a great day.

All the time, particularly now that I work on commission, I’ve found that some days when I wake up after a terrible night of sleep, my morning passes with no sales and I’ve got a headache by mid-afternoon I somehow subconsciously convince myself its go time. In the last few hours of the day I rock out my sales and have some of my best sales days, by the end I’m jazzed in general, in a great mood and have a wonderful night. Weekends on the other hand… I just wallow. :P

Isn’t this more of a poll than a fluther question?

Yes! I was in a severe depression, so just another bad day. Limped to my computer, hair standing on end, feeling like death. I plucked at my keyboard suddenly my phone rang.

I was so bummed out and down I didn’t answer. But checked the message. A former colleague of mine left a message and offered me the job of a lifetime!

Yep, the day I got married.

@PacificToast It seemed to fall under the category of the second type of question.

PacificToast's avatar

@Storms I don’t mean it’s not a good question, but there’s not really much to discuss.

@ PacificToast I honestly wanted to know if this happened to other people. Now I know.
