Check that the outlet is good. I tried to charge my cell phone overnight a couple of weeks ago on my usual kitchen outlet, only to find in the morning that the GFCI had tripped the circuit for some reason.
I’m afraid that I have a problem with my laptop, too, because I have a replacement battery that’s just over a year old, seldom gets used, and won’t hold a charge for more than ten minutes. Either the replacement battery was not new (possible) and was already aged, or the new battery was defective in some fundamental way (less likely, I think) or the power supply / charging unit in the computer that monitors battery status and charge is failing (which is what I suspect).
But since it’s a leased computer from my employer, I’ll let them figure it out when it fails completely. I can lead those horses to water and show them it’s water and how nice it is, but I can’t get them to realize that it’s drinkable.
