What are the pros and cons of a jailbroken iPod?

Are there risks involved? If not, why have so many people I know not jailbroken their iPods? Just curious…

Pro: you can do things Apple does not allow you to do otherwise.

Con: you void your warranty.

I understand the term as it applies to the iPhone, but why would you need to jailbreak an iPod?
