Ignoring all of the talk of “how” a man would give birth and just accepting as fact for a moment that a man could… Yah I would be willing to do it… I imagine it would be the type of thing you’d have to work out with your wife/partner/whatever.

@iamthemob Uhhhh…....Getting a needle jammed in my spine, hospital bills, sickness, waddling like a duck, carrying the weight, pretty much the whole entire process of being pregnant lol. Did I miss something? Is this a wonderful, painless process that everyone is rushing to have done to them now?

@Blackberry – most experiences have an element of pain in them – particularly the wonderful ones. The fact that women continue to do it, and consider it wonderful, despite all of that, is a reason to look past the discomfort when you get to experience your child growing inside you.

Plus, I really hope if the above were possible, you wouldn’t be expecting to have any children at all – given that the reason you wouldn’t do it would have to be explained to the mother. ;-)

I think I would. I’ve definitely sometimes wished it were possible, especially if two men could have a baby together. I’ve always wondered what such a thing would be like.

I’d just like to add, my wife loved being pregnant on each occasion. She felt she absolutely blossomed, thrived on the experience. Most of her friends who are Mums felt the same.

I am living proof of the truth of that old joke that if men could get pregnant they’d only ever have one child each. Been there, done that, and NEVER AGAIN!

@noelleptc Yes, 22 years ago, during my “trying desperately to be a proper girl” phase. needless to say my daughter is an only child.

My sister bore two children and said that it wasn’t nearly as horrific as the pain of passing a kidney stone. I don’t know any men who have experienced the pain of kidney stones, but I can only imagine that it might be comparable.

My mom always said that I was like a little mother and that I’d breast feed if I could. After rasing two kids almost single-handedly, I am now ready for the next challenge: it could include pregnancy – if you science types figure out a way. Let me know, Matt.
