Do you know what? No I wouldn’t! I like to earn my money, what I buy or invest that money on is as a result of hard work. I look upon things that i’ve bought, especially for the kids, with great joy & pride. So stealing would just soil those feelings.

I would indeed do it, but it would have to be a 100% guarantee of not getting caught, and a 100% guarantee of no one getting injured or killed, both people in the team and people in the bank.

I would not tell anyone, at all, ever. As for what i would do with the money, some would go to charity, maybe even as much as 50%, the rest i would spend however i felt like. Maybe i would use some to taunt the big bosses at whatever bank i robbed. Maybe i’d mail them a brick of bills with a note saying “there is more than one way to get a big bank bonus”.

It depends on whose money it is – if it’s from corporations, yes I’d rob them. And I’d feel great about it.

Like ucme, I like the feeling of having earned the money that we have, HOWEVER, my car is having problems and I constantly worry about malfunctions with my kids in the car that could go really bad, my house is falling apart and the walls could quite literally cave in at any time, my husband was blessed with genetically horrible teeth and he’s in constant pain because we can’t afford insurance. So if I got a chance to take money from a bank in my area (where there are lots of money grubbing assholes anyway) then I’d take it in a heartbeat.

No. It would go against my sense of morality. It would break the compact we have that creates a society that can live together. It would have much larger implications than just taking money from the bank. The bank has depositors, and even though the bank is insured, they would be hurt. More than that, even though the risk is shared over millions of people, I’m hurting all of them just a bit.

A very tiny amount of pain felt by millions of people vs a very large pain felt by a few people. The millions hardly notice it. So does that make it ok to inflict that pain on them? What if other people start doing it?

The truth is that you can never get away with it. There are always consequences. I’d rather be a person who helps build up the world rather than one who tears it down. But that’s just me.

Yes yes I would, as long as nobody gets hurt. I wouldn’t tell anybody, but I would hope to help the economy by passing out money to those in need. I’m sure I would buy some properties so I could give people who don’t have a place to live a home somewhere they can call their own.

No. Even if I never got caught it would remain in my conciseness for a good amount of time. Also even though it’s not possible for one person to make a big dent in the amount of money the bank has imagine if everyone robbed the bank because they wouldn’t get caught.
For all the people that the only thing holding you back from doing bad things is that you might get caught I pity you.

Then I’d give that to the victims of the banking industry and others who have lost their jobs, can’t find work, and are still looking.

However, I realize that robbing a bank would probably result in hurting others instead.

I guess if I knew it wouldn’t hurt anyone and I wouldn’t get caught I’d do it… To answer my own question. I’d probably feel bad about it but I would be charitable with it, so maybe that would help me feel better. But I’d only do it because I totally needed the money not just to do it.

If anyone at the bank got fired because I’d robbed it, I’d just send them a cut to keep them afloat until they found a new job. :) I don’t know what else I’d do with it. How much does one usually get from robbing a bank? Like, could I buy a house? A new car? Or just put it away until the kids go to college? Are we talking millions, hundreds of thousands, or tens of thousands?

Probably I’d come home and ask the following question on Fluther: “If you hypothetically got away with robbing a bank, how would you go about using your husband’s small business to launder the money? Is it possible, and what would be the best way to do this?” Then I’d throw a big ass party!

If I could do it without getting caught, I’d be doing it every weekend. Screw the banks. I wouldn’t even need the incentive of the money, though I’d take enough for my living and plans and such.

The morals of the ones who said yes are the ones who question my morals. Such hypocrisy and it makes me sick.

@Mikewlf337 I don’t think I’ve ever questioned anyone’s morals here. If you can find an example of me questioning your morals I’d love to see it. I also don’t think anyone who says yes is morally corrupt. I mean really, what are the odds such a situation would come up and anyone would have the chance to act on such a thing? That’s like telling your spouse he or she can hook up with their favorite celebrity if they ever have the chance. It’s easy to say yes because we all know it’s never going to happen. Sheesh.
