Is there any difference between spearmint and Kentucky Colonel mint?

Google isn’t telling me. I just bought Kentucky Colonel Mint – that’s the actual name on the plant tag, so it makes me think there’s a difference.

Kentucky Colonel Mint is mentha spicata, which is spearmint. There are a number of mentha species, some of which get spearmint, and some get called peppermint.

@BarnacleBill But peppermint is a hybrid of spearmint and watermint.
