Real Asian dumplings, and, steamed rice in bamboo tubes, I used to go to this little dumpling house on Taiwan early in the mornings and watch the girls rolling and filling all varieties of dumplings. The best lunch in town for about $1.50 US dollars. A big plate of dumplings with a bowl of corn soup. Mmmm!

Paper Dosa. It’s a very thin crepe like pancake from India. If you want to get it at an Indian restaurant, you need to find a Southern Indian restaurant, not just any Indian restaurant. Traditionally, it’s filled with all kinds of Indian spices and vegetables, but I’m a picky eater and I just put butter on it and eat it like a pancake. My Indian friends think I’m a total whackmobile when I eat Indian food with them.

Do you want a big city, small town or rural area? Do you need to be close to specific relatives in the U.S.? Is there a type of work that you need to do, that might be specific to a certain region?

Just off the top of my head, I’ll give you San Luis Obispo in California as one of the most liveable medium sized towns in America. Flagstaff, Arizona is very liberal and set in a gorgeous forest. San Antonio, Texas is known for it’s beauty, and cuisine. Austin, Texas is known for it’s friendly people and it’s bustling music scene.
