What entertainers would you say have a signature move or voice?

“Great Question” (2points)

There are entertainers, and there are entertainers. Some have a signature voice like Freddy Mercury that you can pick out no matter what song he is singing in, or Robert Louis “Bob” Fosse you could pick out his style just by seeing the dance, or Michael Jackson, even if he was in disguise you could pick him out by his dancing. Some stars have their signature move or voice that many try to imitate but can never truly copy. Who would you say has a signature voice or moves that are often copied but can never be duplicated totally?

Kramer’s entrance on Seinfeld. That jerky slide move as he opens Jerry’s apartment door is unique.
I’ve tried to do it and can’t even come close.

John Cleese screaming in self-righteous anger. Really, could anyone do “I’m acting all angry so you’ll ignore the fact that I really messed up!” better than John Cleese?

@Cruiser LMAO! Sorry Tom Jones had the looks and the voice…but the dance. Nah! I think Obama – McCain can top that.

The moment the first few words are sung, Willie Nelson’s voice is recognized even f he’s not singing a Country song.

Quite a while back he did an album of timeless classic songs. Right from the first few words of Stardust, you knew it was Willie and he did a fabulous rendition of it.

I’m jumping on the Tom Waits band wagon. I swear he’s been a parodying of himself for 40 years. I love it.

@Cruiser Do you think that woman ever washed that hankerchief again or sealed it in a bottle?

@gailcalled

Bob Dylan popped into my mind also but not for the better so I left him out. As a songwriter he’s a genius. As a singer, he’s easier to listen to if I put my fingers in my ears :)

Were it not for his brilliant lyrics, I seriously can’t imagine anyone in their right mind giving him a recording contract, can you.

And also in the “ouch” category: Anybody else remember William Hung?

gailcalled's avatar

@Buttonstc: I didn’t say I was a fan of his voice, but it’s certainly easy to ID him, don’t you think?

I do remember Hung (with great pleasure)?

Buttonstc's avatar

Yes I do agree. Absolutely nobody on the planet has a voice like Dylan :)
