“Great Question” (5points)

I am especially looking for audio – stories (with or without transcripts), but I’ll check out anything you’ve found.

Please write where you are from (you don’t have to – I’m just curious) and what you liked about the website you use.

Thanks.

Here’s one I discovered recently. It has 10 free short stories to help learn Anerican pronunciation here

My first language is English, but I find this site particilarly helpful and good as it contains helpful lessons for people learning English as well as people looking towards improving it.
I directed you towards the google page to give you an idea of what the site is like.
I’m from the UK, btw

This grammar web site is by far the best I’ve found because it doesn’t just tell “what” the rules are but often also explains “why.” It also gives tips on how to remember complicated rules.
I teach English and use this as a reference frequently. I do follow up on other web sites for additional information, but this is my starting point.

Librivox.org is a site where volunteers read works that are in the public domain. The catalogue is down for a couple of days for maintenance.

I’ve downloaded quite a few books and I love all the various accents. My favourite is The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn read by LibraryAnnie.

Not really a story site, but www.livemocha.com is an online community where you share your own language knowledge in exchange for tutoring in the language you want. Warmly recommended start.

R u looking for podcasts that come with lesson plans?

R u looking for listening sets with questions to practice listening components of IELTS, TOEFL, ESOL, etc?

R u looking for material to use in day to day cass?

R u looking for narratives, literature component (read aloud)?

My first language is not English I am from Malaysia and I used to make a living teaching ESL and as you can see from my lack of care in punctuation and sentence structure i cant be bothered anymore with the whole industry lol but i have a trove of resources you are free to pick at it. I am also helping a friend to make free audio lessons for the internet so if there is something specific u need we can custom make it for you – in our own time of course.
