Think about what people’s lives were like in the 1400’s, how military sieges would take place, the conflict between the French and English, why England wanted to invade France and take control, and why the French would not want them to.
A good thing to remember is that human nature remains constant over time; only technology and fashion changes. If you read about the Siege of Orleans and then imagine it happening today, you get a pretty good idea of how it would affect people.
