Not only did they have suspects, they made quite few arrests too that they realized they were wrong on too. One of the more notable people arrested as Jack was John Pizer, a.k.a. ‘Leather Apron’.
@8Convulsions Walter Sickert lived in Camden Town About the time the Camden Town Murder occurred. Sickert was known for painting the grittiness of the lower classes, so it would only be natural that he would have painted something that was big news in an area he lived in. The show you saw was probably based on Patricia Cornwall’s book Portrait of a Killer – Jack the Ripper: Case Closed which is very debatable in it’s facts in the very least. There is also some supposed evidence that Sickert was in France for four of the five canonical murders. The fact of the matter is too much time has past and too much information was missed at that time for any supposed suspects to be more than just pure conjecture.
