I have had the answer button not work a lot of times (Where it is dim). Normally refreshing the page fixes it.
But in the last six hours I’m not getting the @ dropdown box so I think something is funky on their end. I have tried different browsers and the problem persists.
Or maybe a browser issue. I sometimes press a random combination [which is used to get the php code] and can’t press answer. I usually copy my response close the browser and paste it again.
I can never seem to be able to make just a smiley :-) and answer. I think that if you were banned or something – you wouldn’t be able to ask this question, eh?
@johnpowell, I get the grayed-out answer button issue sometime, too. For me, it only happens occasionally when I’m fluthering on my phone, and restarting my phone fixes it, which leads me to believe the problem is on my end, not theirs. I’m not having that issue now though.
Earlier this year, I had a computer virus that began with that, and the absense of the X and _ at the top right of the screen. Within a week, I lost all my music and pictures.
Back up your valuables now!
Generally, refreshing the screen will work. The only thing weird that’s happening on our end is the massive spam attack, and I don’t think that would cause this issue. I could be wrong, though.
A lot of things on Fluther have not been displaying lately, such as the little pencil icon when someone is editing a question, and the thing in the upper right corner. Everything displays correctly in the Google Chrome browser. I think it’s a problem with the Internet Explorer browser. Some more proof of this is that half of the wikipedia images don’t show up in IE, but do in Chrome.
@Mariah I think that I have an older (not that old, just not the current) version of IE, but an up-to-date Chrome. The problems only started to occur a few months ago, so the OP might be experiencing the same thing.
