So my old ipod went through the wash - and still works. Do you have anything that you'd like to recommend?

“Great Question” (3points)

Anything you’ve been particularly happy with over the years, or something that has outlasted its warranty and has pleasantly surprised you?

I must say – I am now a huge iPod fan. It’s the like the old Timex slogan (I think?) takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I have a Honda walk behind lawn mower at least 20 years old. It was sitting out in my barn with gas in it for 6 years, covered in bird droppings. About 10 years ago I went to recover (or pitch) it. Just for fun, I put some gas in, dragged it to the driveway and pulled the cord. It started on the second pull!
I still use it.

Well, fine. Maybe the iPod works, but the washer has an earworm, only works in “shuffle” mode (and replays the spin over and over) and the dryer is trying to dance out of the room, isn’t it?

My iPod Touch broke just past the warranty (internal speaker stopped working completely) but my Sansa e280 still works almost five years later. I also have a 512MB flash drive that went through the wash at least three times, and spent a couple of months in a snow bank and the mud puddle that resulted from it melting. That was six years ago, and it still works. I like Sandisk.

My Droid X has no guard (any sort of case would prevent me using it in my cardock) and it just took a drop right on it’s face from six feet onto pavement without caring. I know many phones would have shattered the glass from a lesser drop. I like Motorola.

I drive an ‘85 Corolla that not only runs fine, it also handles the abuse and neglect that I heap on it. I love Toyota!

My 1982 Subaru GL hatchback lasted 21 years, and 225,000 miles, till it was totaled in a head on. No idea how much longer it would have gone.
I have a Compac computer running windows 3.1 It still works like a dream, even though it won’t go online, due to software licenses.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee. Bought it new and it now has 360,000 on it. Hardly any service issues. Keeps on running great. Never saw that coming!
