Yes. Because of the possibility of identity theft and to keep the information safe from hackers, I put my financial information (account numbers and such) only on a removable (USB) drive and only work on it when not connected to the Internet. Some years ago, before going on an extended trip, I wanted to hide it in a safe place such that no one would find it if anyone broke into my place. I eliminated all obvious places such as, yes @chyna, underwear drawers. Well, I hid it so well that not even I could find it when I got back.
This year, I moved to another house, and I thought that since I had to pack up everything to move, for sure I would find it. Nope. It’s like it has disappeared into another dimension.
I’ve lost other things, not because I hid them, but I’ve simply lost them. They’ve just disappeared. The strangest one, to me, was not a small object, either. It was the extension tube plus the end brush of my vacuum cleaner. I’ve never used the vacuum cleaner outdoors, never lent it to anyone, but somehow the tube and brush are gone! And they did not turn up on my move, either. Most mysterious.
