I agree with @Adagio, for the most part, although I agree with @ragingloli too (Indiana Jones IV wasn’t all that bad (the aliens and Shia LeBeouf need to go, though), but the second set of Star Wars films, bleah).
Hollywood has been intellectually bankrupt for some time now, but they seem to be cannibalizing their catalogs more and more these days. It’s very rare when a remake needs to be done, or is better than the original (the most recent example to come to mind is the Coen brothers’ version of “True Grit”; much more faithful to the book).
I suppose if we have to choose a film to remake, it’d be “Wild Wild West”. They never should have made it in the first place (you can’t beat Robert Conrad, for one thing!), but if they were going to do it, they should’ve done it right, not the unmitigated disaster they came up with.
