It depends on my mood but I think I love Shiraz and I think Australian Shiraz is the best!
I also like Chardonnay. I used to go for the oaky, buttery tasting ones but now I generally like them a little more fruity but dry. French and Californian.
Likewise, in the summer I like a crisp, dry yet fruity Sauvignon Blanc. Occassionally I’m in the mood for a Reisling but it has to be dry, I don’t like them sweet, ditto for Champagne.
For a big deal meal in the winter with roasted meats and serious food (!!!) I love a really good Cabernet Sauvignon but I don’t generally drink it otherwise.
Venezuela and Chile are making some great, very well-priced wines now. Anyone for a $5 a bottle Cabernet? I found one a Whole Foods. now you know I’m not a wine snob, lol
