Why is the word "Easter" capitalized?
Just a small question this time. Under what rule is the word Easter spelled with a capital letter?
I know Christmas is capitalized because it is to do with Christ, but what is the deal with Easter?

Same as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Veteran’s Day – all holidays.
Proper noun. Name of a holiday.
And Ground Hog Day and Spring Break and any declared holiday. Boxing Day?
And Valentine’s Day and Hanukkah and Ramadan and Kwanza and Good Friday…
‘Cause it’s a holiday.
Happy Easter. :)
quite honestly, I’m working the night shift + weekend shift + holiday + catholic holiday at a Catholic hospital. I’m getting triple-time pay. I’m quite willing to capitalize anything for that.

Just an arbitrary convention in English, as are the rules of punctuation, spelling, abbreviation, etc….
