Employment data? I sent of a 23 page letter of explanation (most of it were day by day notes I started keeping a couple of days after I returned to work when I realized my boss was nit picking me to death and was looking for reasons to fire me.)

Put on some really soothing music. Lie on the floor flat out with your arms and legs away from your body. Shut your eyes and breathe. Concentrate on your breathing. (You’d better set an alarm for 15 minutes because you might fall asleep.)

This Mexican guy was walking down the street in LA, when an earthquake hit and a couple of houses fell on him. He was all “hey, get off me, homes!”

If you have woods near your house, go for a brisk walk or run. When you get to a nice, quiet spot, sit. Just sit and listen. Try closing your eyes and focus on what you hear. When you feel a worry sneak up on you, take a look at it as though you are an outside observer, then go back to listening.

Or you could kick back and watch The Big Lebowski.

Sit still in a chair, back supported, feet on the ground.
Inhale through your nose.
Hold your breath for three to five seconds.
Slowly exhale.
Don’t breathe in for three to five seconds.
Visual peace overcoming you with each inhalation.
Visualize trouble leaving with each exhalation.
Repeat.

Continue for five minutes.

^^ If you’re hyperventilating, you’re probably not holding your breath long enough, not exhaling slowly enough, or not exhaling fully.

Exhale slowly through pursed lips until there’s nothing left in your lungs.

Also, I am taking brisks walks, from my computer to the kitchen where I clean something, then I walk briskly back to my computer. I need a beeger house.

One more suggestion – do you play a musical instrument? I find playing guitar to be very relaxing.

If you don’t play an instrument, I suggest emptying your cabinets of pots and pans right now and set up a nice “drum” set.

Visualize the meeting over and over, see yourself smiling and the people interviewing you responding well. A big smile, a firm handshake and a good energy always got me the job. Good luck!

Oh, nice @LornaLove. Thank you…..I just feel like I’m on trial again….and I was on trial for 4 freakin months at work and I’m not looking forward to it, even briefly, again.

Got the call. Lasted all of 2 minutes. The gal said that the info I sent in answered all the questions she would have had.
She said my former employee did not respond to the information that she sent them.
I hope this is all a good thing.
Now I wait some more.

@Dutchess_III: What are your expectations and what kind of outcome would be the best for you?

The best outcome would be to get the unemployment. That would allow me to cover the loan payments for the next 6 months that we took out against my check when I was working, until I can get another job that will cover those. It would just give me some breathing space.

@Tropical_Willie me thinks some broiled mozzarella garlic cheese bread might do the trick instead! But both the bread and the cheese are frozen! Eh!

I hope so @JLeslie. I hope so. I just re-read the 22 pages I sent them….it seems like an obvious rail road / witch hunt to me, which is what it was, but I guess we’ll find out.

I was approved! I love it. The letter reads that I was released due to lack of work, not because of any misconduct. :)

It is! They also kinda said my employer was negligent ‘cause they just ignored the notices the Dept of Labor sent them about the hearing.
