I loved the 80s. That’s when I was a teen. It gave us Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, The Griswolds, The Brat Pack and the Beastie Boys. Just a bunch of cheese, and that’s what I like!
The 1960’s. I graduated high school, got married, had my first son, moved to California, lived in a commune for awhile, the summer of love, landing on the moon, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, civil rights movement, Star Trek, and much, much more.
Each decade has blessed me with unique experiences, opportunities, challenges and memories: ‘50s (first true love), ‘60s (young adulthood, career start in New York), ‘70s (career advancement, my first houses), ‘80s (not my favorite one), ‘90s (rebound from ‘80s and a more-or-less good and steady life ever since).
I’ve only been alive for a little over two decades, so I don’t have much to choose from, but the 90’s were pretty cool. I wouldn’t want to go back, though.
I like this decade. I like to live in the present. The past is done, the future hopefully to come. But I’m most alive right now. I want to bite life in the ass right now and just enjoy the ride.
This last one.
2003 to 2013.
I left a crappy marriage, flourished and prospered and lived a wonderful life, up until this last spring when this economy pretty much blew my house down. lol
From 43–53 has been the most growth producing and happiest decade of my life, until this last year.
Oh well…I wouldn’t change a thing even if I am in a hardship phases again right now.
The 1970’s, though I was rather little then. I wish I could have been a teen during that decade, for my favorite music, tv shows, movies and memories come from that time.
