Do you notice something in your character that is not quite right and needs improvement?

I wouldn’t say I am the worst type around, but I have my flaws. Even though I try to work on myself and get better in every way, I notice that due to insecurity, I get pangs of jealousy(not intense or nasty)and now and again a competitive streak comes out. I don’t like that, I am fully aware of it and feel it spoils other good character traits I may have. Do you notice something about you that you don’t like, which flaws an otherwise good person and needs working on?

I view my worth as really low. I used to be pretty self-deprecating, but I have gotten better at not expressing that outwardly because it’s annoying to other people.

@dxs join the club and besides being annoying to others, it tends to keep you behind in a lot of ways! Did you have a reason to feel that way? I doubt you had one.

No, not at all.

@ZEPHYRA I’m very self-conscious about my physical appearance. Every hour of every day I wish I were better looking. I wish I didn’t think like this, but I really can’t seem to take control of my mind.

My worst flaws are procrastination at times and talking too much when I am super enthusiastic about some new interest, idea. I also occasionally finish peoples sentences because of my quick brain and intuitive personality. I try to watch these things.

I am too dependent on other people for my happiness.

At work, I do not suffer fools gladly. I do not like it when some (usually lawyers) claim to know something better than I do, but they are demonstrably wrong. I get peeved, and it comes through in my tone of voice. I am working on being gentler in my rebukes.

Of course. And there are many examples. I am a human being, after all.

I am impatient with people who are supposed to be my peers or above me, but I deem as not as smart/knowledgeable/effective. It interferes with my ability to move forward in my career because people focus on my anger rather than the other person’s inabilities.

I have issues from childhood,
I guess – no matter what I did I always felt my parents saw me as less than I was and my brother as more than he was.
