Before I developed a taste for coffee, I usually drank Earl Grey with honey and milk, also. Nowadays, I use Skim Plus fat-free half’n’half in my black teas and coffee – the original is the only one that has no artificial ingredients or sweeteners in it. I like to drink Chai-spiced teas with honey and half-and-half, and think that would make a yummy morning tea.
I have many teas – bagged and loose – in the cabinet; one shelf for caffeinated, and one for decaf/caffeine-free. I have chocolate-orange, cherry-almond, mango-green, green-chai, and more that have caffeine. I have ginger herbal; lemon-ginger, raspberry-pomegranate, honeybush-mandarin, and lemon-ginger teas. I don’t like plain water, so I drink a lot of herbal teas instead. I’ve tried a lot of brands, but the Twinings seems to have the best fruity flavors in the herbal categories.
Coffee has been my morning beverage since I was around 30, and we have a burr-and-grind machine on a timer, so it’s hot and fresh when we get out of the shower. I put a blend of organic turbinado and unbleached cane sugar in it, along with the half-and-half. It is very yummy without the artificial ingredients of the flavored stuff. Is that the only reason why you are considering switching? You can always put some vanilla extract in the cup, or use Vanilla Almond Milk (sweetened or not) in coffee as healthier alternatives to the processed products.
