Unless you already have an HDTV, DON’T get the PS4. You need an HDTV to play PS4, the console is not compatible with tube TV’s. (and if it was, the picture and text would be warped to the seven hecks like it is on PS3, if you play THAT on an old TV)
@Mimishu1995 Well yeah, it’s a console, you need to buy games for it. Plus the PS+ subscription to play online. Without it, most of the console’s features don’t even work, which IS lame, I admit. (besides playing games, but online won’t work, just single player)
60 dollars a year for the subscription, but since I’ve been paying that for three years on my PS3, makes no difference to me. On PS3, it’s for getting deals and discounts on the PSN, playing online is free; if you want to save money, you could always get a PS3…has a lot more games out obviously, and the console will not be shafted by Sony for a long time just because the PS4 is out. (deals on PS4 are also there)
And although the PS3 CAN be played on old TV’s…I wouldn’t recommend it. The picture blows, and the text can barely be read.
So if you don’t have an HDTV, get one before buying a PlayStation. If you’re wanting to use the PS4 as a computer though, and don’t plan to play any games…DON’T. The net capabilities of the PS4 SUCK. Any video that is not approved by Sony doesn’t even work. No YouTube, unless it’s the official Sony version. (which sucks, like as if I need that to look up game trailers and news) The PS3 does all the internet stuff better than PS4, and it’s inferior…well, technically, it’s more efficient on PS4…but they don’t let you DO anything.
If it’s just for net surfing and video watching, just get a smartTV. Those will fit all your needs if you don’t plan on playing video games.
(I’m assuming you do, but you never know…)
