@Unbroken @Mimishu1995 That reminds of the time I was pulled over by the CHP while driving back to L.A. from Anaheim/Disneyland.
It was heavy traffic, just turned dusky to dark. I was high-beaming people and jumping lanes and making pretty good time until I noticed a car’s headlights jumping around like I was. It must have been a ¼ mile back, but i git a weird feeling so I started driving properly, in the middle lane.
Well, sure enough the headlights jump around until they are finally directly behind me. And the the RED lights come on and I am being pulled over.
The Chipper who walked up to my window was angry as all get out and he let me have it. He said I better have a damn good reason for driving so recklessly because otherwise I was going to jail.
I don’t know where this story came from, but I just started with it and took off rolling…That is I told him I had been at Disneyland with the family and got a call at our room at the Disney hotel telling me my brother had been in a horrible car accident, and he was in the hospital asking for me. I then told him I realized I was driving dangerously and that was why I slowed down and sat in the middle lane.
He seemed to lose his anger at hearing this story, but being a cop he asked if he could call the hotel and ask my family about this. I said sure, but he would have to try a dozen names because it was a large family reunion with lots of relatives and I wasn’t sure who had rented the room.
He went back to his car to run my license and registration and then returned, told me how sorry he was about my brother and I should make haste to get to the hospital, but should do so in a safe manner.
I thanked him and drove off. My heart didn’t stop pounding until an hour later.
