McDonalds you just take shit from your boss, and from customers while working a shit wage.

My buddy describes his engineering job like hanging out in the college library working out a problem.

For the record yes I am against those who feel their “skills” makes them a better human being/deserving of a higher wage.

If you are a computer engineer you can probably afford to eat at McDonalds.

McDonalds employees get health insurance, a retirement plan and on the job training. Computer engineers fly by the seat of their pants and take what they can get.

It’s mainly the difference of “doing time” at McDonalds, versus “getting paid for your skill, education, and/or experience” as a computer engineer. There’s no comparison.

McDonalds is hiring and has a lower entry threshold. No CS degree required.

McDonalds has taken the brain out of the work. You put fries in the fryer, and it beeps when done. No need for any brainpower or user tweaks. Burgers are always assembled the same way – 1, 2, 3.

Engineering is problem solving all day. Cool when it they are technical problems, sucks when they are “stupid people” problems.

Computer engineers design the fry machine timer, drive through monitors, cash registers… McDonalds workers use them.
