Anyone remember the Pixies, an alternative rock band from the 1980s. The group had a semi-hit song, “Gigantic”?
The lead singer (who also wrote the song and plays a distinctive bass guitar) is fantasizing about an African American man and his enormous, um, attributes. Let’s just say that “Gigantic” doesn’t mean he’s tall. I’m still amazed that the song, with rather daring lyrics, made it to AM/FM radio:
Lovely legs they are
What a big black mess
What a hunk of love
He’s like the dark, but I want him
Hilariously, Apple recently used “Gigantic” in a recent TV commercial. I guess nobody at the corporation or its advertising firm had bothered to listen to the song’s lyrics?
