I am not a big fan of berries, but I would say rasberry is at the top of the list for favorite. My mother and husband both hate all berries. They can tolerate some berry flavored jams and sauces though. Needless to say, with a mom who disliked berries, they weren’t in the house much.

Blackberries. I grew up on a 80 acre farm and we had two creeks that ran through it. Both creeks had massive walls of blackberry bushes along them. There was more than we could ever eat.

We would go down with massive bowls and pick them for hours. The best is when they are so big you have to be really careful when you pick them or they explode in your hand.

My favorite was putting about about a half inch of milk in a cup and then fill the cup with blackberries and sprinkle some sugar on top and give it a genital stir. A delicious mess.

Blackberries are my current favorite and I have childhood memories much like yours. I don’t like the spiders that inhabit the berry bushes though.

I also love eating mulberries off trees in the North End (of Boston).

Red or black raspberries? Yellow? Worlds apart. I grew up with wild black raspberries, but I was delighted when I discovered red!

Red raspberries, then a huuuge gap and, eventually, strawberries.

I like my raspberries best either hot, on ice cream…or frozen. Frozen, I eat them with vanilla yogurt or simply by themselves.

Blackberries and Strawberries. We have tons of wild blackberries over here and the freezer is loaded. I just made a pie, and also stew them with apples and am having some end of season strawberries in my vanilla yogurt right now. The frozen Blackberries in the store are the best of all the frozen berries. No added sugar or syrup.

I love all kinds of berries. We grow strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. :) Nothing beats homemade raspberry jam. Otherwise, I eat them raw or make pies.

Strawberries. I just picked this late season beauty from my strawberry planter today.

I love most berries, but I think the tomato is my favorite. I grow them every year.

My favorite “real” berry is the serviceberry. They grow wild around here; no need to cultivate.

I have never head of the serviceberry before, @wildpotato.
It even comes up as a misspelling.

I looked it up, and serviceberries look just like blueberries, but also like rose hips, as they are related to roses.
