Well, in that case definitely get the tablet. You’ll get so much more use from it. And Black Friday is just around the corner, hint, hint.
As far as the other, I’m going to assume you’re thinking of SegaNet? I believe that was the gaming portal.
Truth be told, my primary reason I got the Dreamcast is because (and remember this was 15 yrs. ago) I wanted to be able to get online but reluctant to invest in a computer and gunshy about picking up viruses on a Windoze system.
So, I got the DC on sale and bundled with the keyboard, and several games for only $99.00. Plus it came with a Browser Disc for getting online and that was for the whole net, not just a gaming portal.
So all in all, a very affordable substitute for a computer. The main limitation was no downloading but for a total newbie like me, a blessing in disguise. No viruses.
I could participate in forums, email, read news sites, look up anything I wanted. I was a happy camper.
And evidently, it was a very affordable solution for people in third world countries as well.
Nowadays, there are so many different ways to access the Internet, but there were no tablets or smartphones back then (and dial-up was the majority method then)
So, it was a really incredible system for it’s time. I loved it.
