@canidmajor I agree. The DVR makes it tolerable but that is still not as good as being immersed in a show that has no break.
Ever since I was young I’ve had a thing about commercials. I’m not sure if my parents taught me or if I learned it myself: The commercial is there so they can put ideas in my head to make me give my money or time to someone else. That’s it.
They call it a commercial break for a reason and that is my time to get up and do something else: pee, put the dishes in the dishwasher, put the dishes away, start laundry, check fluther, answer an email. I must get up. You won’t find me succumbing to deep vein thrombosis.
If I find myself sitting and listening to a slow motion drug commercial for something worth 100 points in a Scrabble game, Xaljazeb, Zanaxajif, etc. that is my early warning sign that I am turning into a slack jawed automaton and it is time to turn the TV off.
I am advertisers’ worst nightmare.
