I am a Christian but just recently after seeing the film
“War Room” have started praying for my husband
and our marriage. I am not going to let the devil
steal my joy. How about you?

I say a prayer when my wife leaves the driveway.

It’s really for the clutch though.

Like, never.

Literally never. When he leaves in the morning I tell him, directly, to be safe, and to have fun storming the castle.

I don’t believe in gods or devils, so there’s that.

Whenever she suggests giving the kitchen staff the night off & offers to “cook” I beg to the wizard of the flames for her to see sense & avoid the inevitable inferno.
Other than that, meh!

I do and I don’t. I don’t actually believe in gods and such, but I do hope for the universe to keep her safe on occasion. Is that “praying” per se?

janbb's avatar

Yeah, I pray that my ex gets jock itch.

@janbb – Nasty, but funny.

@MooCows – is it effective? How do you know that your prayer is working? What’s the devil, anyway?

filmfann's avatar

I do. Religiously.

I’m single at the moment, but even if I did have a boyfriend; I would not pray. I’m a deist and I don’t believe in the power of prayer.

I tried praying before I was a deist and nothing happened. I don’t believe God works that way. It’s job is to maintain order in the universe, not violate the laws of nature. To me granting prayers and performing miracles, would be a violation of natural law. Not something that would be in God’s best interests.

I pray to the all mighty god of traffic whenever she leaves the house.

I am not a believer but if I was I’d pray I didn’t run into my ex in the after life. Of course we’d be on very different floors in that hotel. Penthouse for me, basement for him. lol

I never prayed for my spouse. I went to shul and said the Kaddish for my dad after he died because he asked me to, but that’s about it. I don’t go back every year, though.

Your spouse’s well being is usually up to you rather than God.

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

No. I might remind them to stay safe as they go, but I don’t pray for them.

Darth_Algar's avatar

No, but I’d offer sacrifices to Odin on her behalf.
