Could you recommend a cheap or free video file converter?

I need some sort of conversion application to convert an Adobe Flash flv file to mp4.

I used to have Adobe Creative Cloud suite, but I cancelled it and am now only using creative suite 6. So I need a non-Adobe application (one that is cheap or free)

Thanks

I use a terrific program called Video Converter for Mac by iOrgSoft. There’s also a version for PC. Looks like it’s free.

I am pretty sure https://handbrake.fr/ can convert from flv since it is based on ffmpeg (what Plex uses). Handbrake is awesome. Free and open source.

I actually just tested and it worked well.

I use handbrake as well, what make it nice is you can queue up a whole folder of files to convert and just let it do its thing

I’ll have to give handbreak a shot. Thanks everyone for your fantastic suggestions.
