No….he wasn’t one of my motherless boys. He was just a high school friend. He and my son asked if they could borrow two of our dune buggies off the show room floor to take to prom. We said, “Sure.” I have a picture of them together, but it’s on CD.
We used to have a 1968 boat with an Evanrude (sp) motor. I used to feel like Jackie-O in that boat.
One time my son’s friend and his girlfriend were with us, and we took them on a slow, lazy tour of the lake as the shun was going down. The sat, quietly, in the bow of the boat, in each others arms, the warm, setting colors gently playing over them.
At one point he turned and said, “Thank you for this. I will never forget it!”
It wasn’t long after that…...
