Wow. Already? Let’s let the celebration go on for as long as Flutherites wish. Let’s have one helluva party.
I’ve arranged for a fine meal to start, served by formal waiters and waitresses, beginning with clams casino, a small caesar’s salad, and a choice of a fabulous legume platter for our vegetarians—but there will be a special waiting staff to take the orders of anyone who wishes something off menu.
There will be a next course of either freshly caught Red Snapper à la meunière, or Kansas grain fed filet mignon flavored with garlic and cracked black peppercorns. Baked potatoes with everything, braised snap beans with shallots and sauteed with or without bacon.
The wines will be a choice of Pinot Grigio, Chardonay for the first courses, a hearty Sangiovese and the more complicated, but equally robust Travaglini Gattinara for reds.
Afterward there will be an incredible dessert cart proudly presented by the pastry chef and the waiting staff, liqueurs and cognacs, maybe a little coffee and sambuco and conversation—then the music, the dance and the party begins!
